Chunky Merino Wool Sample - Pick 3

Allergic to wool? Me too! I can honestly tell you I am extremely allergic to most natural fibers, including wool. However, I am able to arm knit with merino wool without an issues. Unfortunately that is no guarantee, so we have set up the Pick 3 Samples item. Select the 3 colors you are most likely to want, and we will send you a 4-6 inch sample of the yarn in each of your colors. We recommend using the colors you anticipate buying just to be sure you aren't allergic to the dye.
Try it out. If it makes you itchy, sneezy, grouchy, or any of the other Seven Dwarves, I am so sorry! If it doesn't, then you know you should be fine with our products.

Not sure about your color? We do mention throughout the pages that the colors may vary based on monitor settings, because we want you to be sure. If you have doubts, just order a sample pack with the colors you are thinking about, and we will send them to you to try out in your space.

The Specifics

These samples will be roughly 4-6 inches long. We don't measure, but just pull off a bit of it. It will be the full thickness of the yarn as well, so you can get a feel for that. Please be aware that even among a single dye lot we see minor variations in color and thickness because it is a natural fiber. These samples are as representative as we can make them.

Please note the date on the color card pictured before you order. From time to time, the factory changes the dye mix and it results in a slightly different color. Depending on how much the color is changed, we may keep the same name. We do try very hard to notify anyone ordering that color for the next 4 weeks or so. However, it is possible that this step could be missed. So, please look at the color card date to see if there have been changes to your color. If this is the case, feel free to email us and we will send you the new version.

Caring for your throw

Merino wool should never be washed completely. It can be spot cleaned in small areas with a soft, damp cloth and very mild soap. If you do so, the best option is to go in the direction of the wool so that it doesn’t create rough places in the wool. It can be dry cleaned safely.

We offer 3 unique knit styles in our chunky throws: Classic Knit (our most popular), Ribbed Knit, and Basket Weave.

Because of the nature of chunky knits, the exact measurements do vary based on how the item is handled. In some sizes there is a variation of up to 3 inches. However, we are very careful to measure each piece before it goes out the door to ensure that it meets the minimum size ordered. If you find your blanket is a little off, you should be able to lay it out flat and pull it gently in the direction you would like to lengthen it and it will shift accordingly.
